अग्निः प्रत्नेन जन्मना शुम्भानस्तन्वा३ँ स्वाम् । कविर्विप्रेण ववृधे ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप प्रकाशमान व मेधावी हैं. पुराने स्तोत्रों से यजमान आप को प्रज्वलित कर के आप का विस्तार करते हैं. (१)

O agni! You are bright and meritorious. With old hymns, the hosts light you and expand you. (1)
प्रति ष्या सूनरी जनी व्युच्छन्ती परि स्वसुः । दिवो अदर्शि दुहिता ॥ (१)

उषा सूर्य की बेटी हैं. वे श्रेष्ठ नारी हैं. वे अपना प्रकाश चारों ओर फैलाती हुई जाती हैं. दिन के न दिखाई देने पर वे अपना प्रकाश फैलाती हैं. (१)

Usha is the daughter of Surya. They are the best women. They spread their light all around. They spread their light when the day is not visible. (1)
अग्निं तं मन्ये यो वसुरस्तं यं यन्ति धेनवः । अस्तमर्वन्त आशवोस्तं नित्यासो वाजिन इषँ स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप सर्वव्यापक हैं. हम आप की उपासना करते हैं. घोड़े व गाएं जिन की शरण में हैं, हम यजमानों को भी आप अपनी शरण में लीजिए. हम नित्य नियम निभाने वाले और हवि देने वाले हैं. आप हमें अन्नदान कीजिए. हम आप की उपासना करते हैं. (१)

O agni! You are omnipresent. We worship you. Horses and cows in whose shelter we are also taking the hosts in your shelter. We are always the ones who follow the rules and give courage. You donate food to us. We worship you. (1)
अबोध्यग्निः समिधा जनानां प्रति धेनुमिवायतीमुषासम् । यह्वा इव प्र वयामुज्जिहानाः प्र भानवः सस्रते नाकमच्छ ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप लोगों (यजमानों) की समिधा से प्रदीप्त होते हैं. नींद से उठ कर गौएं जैसे जाग्रत होती हैं, वैसे ही आप जाग्रत हैं. पेड़ों की शाखाएं जैसे आकाश की ओर फैलती हैं, वैसे ही आप की लपटें स्वर्ग की ओर फैलती हैं. (१)

O agni! You are illuminated by the samidha of the people (hosts). As the cows wake up from sleep, you are awake. Just as the branches of trees spread towards the sky, so your flames spread towards heaven. (1)
एता उ त्या उषसः केतुमक्रत पूर्वे अर्धे रजसो भानुमञ्जते । निष्कृण्वाना आयुधानीव धृष्णवः प्रति गावोऽरुषीर्यन्ति मातरः ॥ (१)

हे उषा! आप उजाला फैलाती हैं. आप के आने से पूर्व दिशा में प्रकाश हो जाता है. वीर अपने आयुधों को जैसे चमकाते हैं, वैसे ही आप संसार को चमचमा देती हैं. माता उषा प्रतिदिन आती और जाती हैं. (१)

O Usha! You spread light. The arrival of you gets light in the east direction. Just as heroes shine their weapons, you make the world shine. Mother Usha comes and goes every day. (1)
ऊर्ज्जो नपातमा हुवेऽग्निं पावकशोचिषम् । अस्मिन्यज्ञे स्वध्वरे ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! हम अपने इस यज्ञ में अग्नि को आमंत्रित करते हैं. आप पवित्र व प्रकाशमान हैं. आप ऊर्जा को नीचे नहीं गिरने देते हैं. (२)

O agni! We invite agni to our yagna. You are holy and bright. You don't let the energy fall down. (2)
अश्वेव चित्रारुषी माता गवामृतावरी । सखा भूदश्विनोरुषाः ॥ (२)

उषा रश्मियों की मां हैं. वे रशमियां अदभुत और चमकीली हैं. वे अश्विनीकुमारों की मित्र हैं. (२)

Usha is the mother of rashmis. Those rashmis are amazing and bright. She is a friend of Ashwinikumars. (2)
अग्निर्हि वाजिनं विशे ददाति विश्वचर्षणिः । अग्नी राये स्वाभुवँ स प्रीतो याति वार्यमिषँ स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! आप यजमान को अन्नवान बनाने वाले, व्यापक दृष्टि वाले और पूजनीय हैं. आप प्रसन्न हो कर आसानी से यजमानों को धन देते हैं. आप उपासकों को भरपूर धन देने की कृपा कीजिए. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the one who makes the host food, with a broad vision and is revered. You are happy and easily give money to the hosts. Please give plenty of money to the worshippers. (2)
अबोधि होता यजथाय देवानूर्ध्वो अग्निः सुमनाः प्रातरस्थात् । समिद्धस्य रुशददर्शि पाजो महान्देवस्तमसो निरमोचि ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! आप यज्ञ के प्रबल आधार हैं. देवों के लिए (हवि पहुंचाने हेतु) आप को प्रज्वलित किया जाता है. आप ऊर्ध्वगामी हैं व सुबह अच्छे मन से ऊपर की ओर जाते हैं आप महान हैं. आप को हम प्रत्यक्ष देख सकते हैं. आप देवताओं व संसार को अंधकार से दूर करते हैं. (२)

O agni! You are the strong base of yajna. You are ignited for the gods (to convey the havi). You are upward and go upstairs with a good heart in the morning, you are great. We can see you directly. You remove the gods and the world from darkness. (2)
उदपप्तन्नरुणा भानवो वृथा स्वायुजो अरुषीर्गा अयुक्षत । अक्रन्नुषासो वयुनानि पूर्वथा रुशन्तं भानुमरुषीरशिश्रयुः ॥ (२)

उषा के आते ही लाल किरणें आकाश में छा गई हैं. अपनेआप जुते हुए रथ से वे चेतना फैलाती हैं तथा सूर्य की सेवा करती हैं. (२)

As soon as Usha arrives, red rays have covered the sky. With a chariot plowed on their own, they spread consciousness and serve the sun. (2)
स नो मित्रमहस्त्वमग्ने शुक्रेण शोचिषा । देवैरा सत्सि बर्हिषि ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! आप अपनी चमकीली लपटों से अन्य देवताओं के साथ कुश के आसन पर विराजिए. आप हमारे मित्र हैं. (३)

सो अग्निर्यो वसुर्गृणे सं यमायन्ति धेनवः । समर्वन्तो रघुद्रुवः सँ सुजातासः सूरय इषँ स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! सारी गौएं तेज गति वाले घोड़े व विद्वान् आप की शरण में हैं. आप पूजनीय हैं. आप यजमानों को भरपूर अन्न प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! All the cows are in the shelter of fast-moving horses and scholars. You are revered. Please provide plenty of food to the hosts. (3)
यदीं गणस्य रशनामजीगः शुचिरङ्क्ते शुचिभिर्गोभिरग्निः । आद्दक्षिणा युज्यते वाजयन्त्युत्तानामूर्ध्वो अधयज्जुहूभिः ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! आप बाधाएं व अंधेरे को दूर करते हैं. आप संसार को प्रकाशमान व यजमान घी की आहुतियों से बलवान बनाते हैं. आप ऊर्ध्वगामी हो कर उस घी वाली आहुतियों को स्वीकारते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You remove obstacles and darkness. You make the world strong with the offerings of light and host ghee. You go upwards and accept that ghee offerings. (3)
अर्चन्ति नारीरपसो न विष्टिभिः समानेन योजनेना परावतः । इषं वहन्तीः सुकृते सुदानवे विश्वेदह यजमानाय सुन्वते ॥ (३)

जो यजमान अर्चना करते हैं, सोमरस को परिष्कृत करते हैं, अच्छे कार्य करते हैं, दान करते हैं, उन यजमानों को उषा अन्न व बल देती हैं और प्रकाशमान बना देती हैं. युद्ध में सञ्जित वीर की भांति वे आकाश की शोभा बढ़ा देती हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Those hosts who worship, refine someras, do good deeds, donate, Usha gives food and strength to those hosts and makes them bright. Like a warrior in battle, she adorns the sky. (3)
उत्ते शुष्मासो अस्थू रक्षो भिन्दन्तो अद्रिवः । नुदस्व याः परिस्पृधः ॥ (४)

हे सोम! पत्थरों से कूट कर आप का रस निकाला जाता है. आप की उमड़ती हुई लहरों से राक्षसों का नाश होता है. जो हम से प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हैं, आप उन शत्रुओं का नाश करने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon! Your juice is extracted by crushing with stones. Demons are destroyed by the rising waves of you. Those who compete with us, please destroy those enemies. (4)
एषो उषा अपूर्व्य व्युच्छति प्रिया दिवः । स्तुषे वामश्विना बृहत् ॥ (४)

हे अश्विनी! उषा अपूर्व, प्रिय व दिन लाती हैं. हम विशाल स्तोत्रों से उन की उपासना करते हैं. (४)

O Ashwini! Usha brings unique, dear and day. We worship him with huge hymns. (4)
महे नो अद्य बोधयोषो राये दिवित्मती । यथा चिन्नो अबोधयः सत्यश्रवसि वाय्ये सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! आप प्रकाशवती हैं. आप हम सभी को पहले की तरह आज भी बोधित (जाग्रत) करने की कृपा कीजिए. आप हम पर भी वैसी ही कृपा कीजिए, जैसी आप ने वय्य के पुत्र सत्यश्रवा पर की. जैसा आप ने उन्हें (सत्यश्रवा को) जाग्रत किया, वैसे ही हमें भी जाग्रत करने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)

O Usha! You are prakashvati. Please wake up all of us today as before. Please bless us as you did to Satyashrava, the son of the age. (4)
इदँ श्रेष्ठं ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरागाच्चित्रः प्रकेतो अजनिष्ट विभ्वा । यथा प्रसूता सवितुः सवायैवा रात्र्युषसे योनिमारैक् ॥ (४)

हे उषा! आप सभी ज्योतियों से श्रेष्ठ ज्योति वाली हैं. आप की ज्योति सर्वत्र फैलती है. सभी वस्तुओं को ज्योतिर्मय बना देती हैं. सविता के अस्त होने के बाद रात्रि उषा को उत्पन्न होने के लिए जगह देती हैं. (४)

O Usha! You are the best light of all the lights. Your light spreads everywhere. They make all things luminous. After Savita sets, the night gives Usha a place to be born. (4)
अबोध्यग्निर्ज्म उदेति सूर्यो व्यू३षाश्चन्द्रा मह्यावो अर्चिषा । आयुक्षातामश्विना यातवे रथं प्रासावीद्देवः सविता जगत्पृथक् ॥ (४)

अग्नि वेदी में प्रज्वलित हो गए हैं. सूर्य आकाश में उदित हो गए हैं. उषा महान हैं. वे अपनी तेजस्विता से सब को प्रसन्न कर देती हैं. हे अश्विनीकुमार! आप अपने घोड़े रथ में जोतिए, यहां प्रस्थान करिए. सूर्य सभी को अलगअलग कार्य करने की प्रेरणा दे रहे हैं. (४)

Agni has ignited in the altar. The sun has risen in the sky. Usha is great. They make everyone happy with their brilliance. O AshwiniKumar! You plough your horse in the chariot, leave here. The sun is inspiring everyone to work differently. (4)
अया निजघ्निरोजसा रथसङ्गे धने हिते । स्तवा अबिभ्युषा हृदा ॥ (५)

हे सोम! आप सामर्थ्यवान व शत्रुनाशक हैं, रथ को साथ ले कर शत्रुओं को नष्ट कीजिए. हम हृदय से आप से धन देने के लिए अनुरोध करते हैं. (५)

O Mon! You are powerful and destroyers, take the chariot along and destroy the enemies. We sincerely request you to give money. (5)
या दस्रा सिन्धुमातरा मनोतरा रयीणाम् । धिया देवा वसुविदा ॥ (५)

हे अश्विनीकुमारो! आप बुद्धिमानों के धनदाता हैं. आप नदियों को पैदा करने वाले, मनोहर व धनवान हैं. (५)

O Ashwinikumaro! You are the richest of the wise. You are the creator of rivers, beautiful and rich. (5)
या सुनीथे शौचद्रथे व्यौच्छो दुहितर्दिवः । सा व्युच्छ सहीयसि सत्यश्रवसि वाय्ये सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥ (५)

हे उषा! आप स्वर्गलोक की दुहिता (पुत्री) हैं. आप शुचद्रथ के पुत्र सुनीथ हेतु अंधेरे को भगा कर प्रकट हुई. आपने सुनीथ पर जैसी कृपा की, वैसी ही आप वस्य के पुत्र सत्यश्रवा पर भी कीजिए. (५)

O Usha! You are the daughter of heaven. You appeared for Sueeth, son of Shuchadratha, by driving away the darkness. Just as you did to Sunith, you should do the same to Satyashrava, the son of Vastay. (5)
रुशाद्वत्सा रुशती श्वेत्यागादारैगु कृष्णा सदनान्यस्याः । समानबन्धू अमृते अनूची द्यावा वर्णं चरत आमिनाने ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! आप सूर्य का चमकीला स्वरूप ले कर पैदा हुई और रात्रि काले रंग का. सूर्य दोनों के समान रूप से बंधु हैं, दोनों अमर हैं. स्वर्गलोक में एक के बाद एक आतीजाती हैं दोनों एकदूसरे का प्रभाव समाप्त करती हैं. (५)

O Usha! You were born with a bright form of the sun and the night is black. Sun is equally brotherly to both, both are immortal. One after the other comes to heaven, both of them end each other's influence. (5)
यद्युञ्जाथे वृषणमश्विना रथं घृतेन नो मधुना क्षत्रमुक्षतम् । अस्माकं ब्रह्म पृतनासु जिन्वतं वयं धना शूरसाता भजेमहि ॥ (५)

हे अश्विनीकुमारो! आप अपने रथ में घोड़े जोत कर हमारे यज्ञ में पहुंचिए. हमें घृत से पुष्ट करिए, हमें आत्मज्ञान दीजिए, हमें शत्रुओं को जीतने की क्षमता दीजिए. हम धन पा सकें. हम आप को भजते हैं. (५)

O Ashwinikumaro! You plough horses in your chariot and reach our yagna. Strengthen us with hatred, give us enlightenment, give us the ability to conquer enemies. We can get money. We worship you. (5)
अस्य व्रतानि नाधृषे पवमानस्य दूढ्या । रुज यस्त्वा पृतन्यति ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं. आप के दृढ़ व्रतों से दुष्ट राक्षस प्रगति नहीं कर सकते. जो शन्रु युद्ध करना चाहते हैं, आप उन शत्रुओं का नाश कीजिए. (६)

O Mon! You are holy. Evil demons cannot progress with your strong fasts. Those who want to fight, you destroy those enemies. (6)
वच्यन्ते वां ककुहासो जूर्णायामधि विष्टपि । यद्वाँ रथो विभिष्पतात् ॥ (६)

जब आप दोनों अश्विनीकुमारों का रथ पक्षी की भांति उड़ कर ऊपर जाता है तब आप दोनों के लिए स्वर्ग में भी स्तोत्र पढ़े जाते हैं. (६)

When the chariot of both of you Ashwinikumars flies up like a bird, then stotras are also read in heaven for both of you. (6)
सा नो अद्याभरद्वसुर्व्युच्छा दुहितर्दिवः । यो व्यौच्छः सहीयसि सत्यश्रवसि याय्ये सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥ (६)

हे उषा! आप स्वर्गलोक की दुहिता (बेटी) हैं. आप हमें भरपूर धन देने व आज हमारे अंधेरे (प्राकृतिक और अज्ञान रूप दोनों) को नष्ट करने की कृपा कीजिए. आप सत्यस्वरूपा हैं. आप वय्य के पुत्र सत्यश्रवा पर अपनी कृपा कीजिए. (६)

O Usha! You are the duhita (daughter) of heaven. Please give us plenty of money and destroy our darkness (both natural and ignorant form) today. You are Satyaswaroopa. Please have mercy on Satyashrava, the son of the elder. (6)
समानो अध्वा स्वस्रोरनन्तस्तमन्यान्या चरतो देवशिष्टे । न मेथेते न तस्थतुः सुमेके नक्तोषासा समनसा विरूपे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दोनों बहनों (उषा और रात्रि) की एक ही राह है. वह राह अनंत है. उसी राह पर ये दोनों एकदूसरे के पीछे चलती हैं, भले ही इन के स्वरूप एकदूसरे से अलग हैं पर इन के मन समान हैं. ये दोनों अपनेअपने कायो में लगी रहती हैं. (६)

Both sisters (Usha and Ratri) have the same path. That path is infinite. On the same path, these two follow each other, even though their forms are different from each other but their minds are the same. Both of them are engaged in their own work. (6)
अर्वाङ्त्रिचक्रो मधुवाहनो रथो जीराश्वो अश्विनोर्यातु सुष्टुतः । त्रिवन्धुरो मघवा विश्वसौभगः शं न आ वक्षद्द्विपदे चतुष्पदे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! आप रथ पर विराज कर यज्ञ में पधारिए. आप का रथ तीन पहियों वाला, मधुर अमृतधारी, द्रुतगामी, अश्वजुत, सराहनीय व तीन लोगों के बैठने की जगह वाला है. वह प्रचुर ऐश्वर्यवान और सौभाग्यवान है. आप सब के प्रति कल्याणकारी भावना रख कर हमारे यज्ञ स्थान में पधारने की कृपा कीजिए. (६)

O Ashwinikumaro! You sit on the chariot and come to the yagna. Your chariot is three-wheeled, sweet amritdhari, fast,ashwajut, commendable and has a seating space for three people. He is abundantly opulent and fortunate. Please have a welfare feeling towards all of you and come to our yajna place. (6)
