उपप्रयन्तो अध्वरं मन्त्रं वोचेमाग्नये । आरे अस्मे च शृण्वते ॥ (१)

अग्नि उत्तम यज्ञ करने वाले यजमान की प्रार्थना सुनने के लिए तैयार हैं. हम उन की उपासना करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Agni is ready to listen to the prayers of the host performing the best yajna. We worship them. (1)
यः स्नीहितीषु पूर्व्यः सञ्जग्मानासु कृष्टिषु । अरक्षद्दाशुषे गयम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि हमेशा प्रकाशित रहते हैं. यजमान जब प्रेम भाव से मिल कर रहते हैं तो वे उन के वैभव की रक्षा करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Agni is always illuminated. When the hosts live together with love, they protect their splendor. (2)
स नो वेदो अमात्यमग्नी रक्षतु शन्तमः । उतास्मान्पात्वँहसः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि बहुत कल्याणकारी हैं. वे हमें पापों (बुरी प्रवृत्तियों) से दूर करने व हमारे वैभव की रक्षा करने में हमारी सहायता करने की कृपा करें. (३)
EN English Translation
Agni is very welfare. May they be pleased to help us away from sins (evil tendencies) and protect our splendour. (3)
उत ब्रुवन्तु जन्तव उदग्निर्वृत्रहाजनि । धनञ्जयो रणेरणे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अन्ने युद्धों में दुश्मनों को हराते हैं व उन का धन जीतते हैं. वे प्रकट हो गए हैं. मंत्र गायक पुरोहित को उन की स्तुति करनी चाहिए. (४)
EN English Translation
In their wars, they defeat the enemies and win their wealth. They have appeared. The mantra singer purohit should praise them. (4)
अग्ने युङ्क्ष्वा हि ये तवाश्वासो देव साधवः । अरं वहन्त्याशवः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप के घोड़े शीघ्र जाने वाले हैं. आप के घोड़े भी सामर्थ्यवान हैं. आप उन को रथ में जोतिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! Your horses are going to leave soon. Your horses are also powerful. You plough them in the chariot. (5)
अच्छा नो याह्या वहाभि प्रयाँसि वीतये । आ देवान्त्सोमपीतये ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप सोमपान व देवताओं को हमारी ओर उन्मुख करने की कृपा कीजिए. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! Please orient Sompan and the gods towards us. (6)
उदग्ने भारत द्युमदजस्रेण दविद्युतत् । शोचा वि भाह्यजर ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप जग के पालक व अक्षुण्ण (कभी क्षीण न हो सकने वाले) हैं. आप भी प्रकाशित होइए और जग को भी प्रकाशित कीजिए. आप प्रज्वलित हो कर उत्तरोत्तर बढ़ोतरी प्राप्त कीजिए. (७)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the guardian and intact (never-to-be-waning) of the jug. You also publish and publish the world too. You ignite and get progressive increase. (7)
प्र सुन्वानायान्धसो मर्त्तो न वष्ट तद्वचः । अप श्वानमराधसँ हता मखं न भृगवः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस रसीला व सेवन के योग्य है. सोम के लिए की गई प्रार्थनाओं को लालची कुत्ते न सुन सकें. भृगु ऋषि ने जैसे मख नामक राक्षस को मारा था, वैसे ही आप उन कुत्तों को अपराधी की तरह ही दंडित कीजिए. (८)
EN English Translation
Somerus is succulent and worthy of consumption. Greedy dogs cannot hear the prayers made for Som. Just like Bhrigu Rishi killed a demon named Makh, you punish those dogs like criminals. (8)
आ जामिरत्के अव्यत भुजे न पुत्र ओण्योः । सरज्जारो न योषणां वरो न योनिमासदम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम भाई जैसे प्रिय हैं, मातापिता की भुजाओं में संरक्षित बेटे जैसे हैं व कामी आदमी जैसे स्त्री की ओर और वर कन्या की ओर आकर्षित होता है, वैसे ही सोम द्रोणकलश की ओर जा रहे हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
As Som Bhai is dear, like a son protected in the arms of his parents and a kami man is attracted to a woman and a groom to a girl, So Som is going towards Dronakalash. (9)
स वीरो दक्षसाधनो वि यस्तस्तम्भ रोदसी । हरिः पवित्रे अव्यत वेधा न योनिमासदम् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम पवित्र, हरे, पोषक, वीर व उत्तम रसायनों से भरे हैं. वे स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक को अपने प्रकाश से भर देते हैं. द्रोणकलश में यजमान के घर जाने की तरह प्रवेश करते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
Som is holy, green, nutritious, heroic and full of fine chemicals. They fill heaven and earth with their light. They enter Dronakalash like going to the host's house. (10)
