अक्रान्त्समुद्रः प्रथमे विधर्मं जनयन्प्रजा भुवनस्य गोपाः । वृषा पवित्रे अधि सानो अव्ये बृहत्सोमो वावृधे स्वानो अद्रिः ॥ (१)

सोम पानी बरसाने वाले, सब की रक्षा करने वाले व दिव्य हैं. सब से पहले आकाश में उन्होंने प्रजा को उत्पन्न कर के प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त की, फिर पृथ्वी के ऊपर प्राकृतिक छलनी से छन कर के बढ़ोतरी प्राप्त की. (१)
EN English Translation
Soma is the one who showers water, protects everyone and is divine. First of all, they gained prestige by producing people in heaven, and then by filtering them with a natural sieve over the earth, they gained growth.
मत्सि वायुमिष्टये राधसे च मत्सि मित्रावरुणा पूयमानः । मत्सि शर्धो मारुतं मत्सि देवान्मत्सि द्यावापृथिवी देव सोम ॥ (२)

छाना गया सोमरस मित्र, वरुण तथा मरुद्गण की सामर्थ्य बढ़ा देने वाला हो. वह इंद्र के भी बल को बढ़ाए. वह हमें अन्न, धन दिलाने के लिए वायु को प्रसन्न करे. सोमरस अनुपम (दिव्य) है. वह स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक दोनों ही लोकों के लिए प्रसन्नता बढ़ाने वाला हो. (२)
EN English Translation
The sorted sommers should increase the strength of friends, Varuna and Marudagana. He should also increase the strength of Indra. May he please the air to give us food, money. Someras is unique (divine). May he be a source of happiness for both heaven and earth. (2)
महत्तत्सोमो महिषश्चकारापां यद्गर्भोऽवृणीत देवान् । अदधादिन्द्रे पवमान ओजोऽजनयत्सूर्ये ज्योतिरिन्दुः ॥ (३)

सोम ने सूर्य में प्रकाश उत्पन्न किया. इंद्र में ओज स्थापित किया. ये जल के गर्भ स्वरूप और महानतम हैं. सोम ने बहुत से कार्य किए हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Som generated light in the sun. Indra established oz in. They are the womb form of water and the greatest. Som has done a lot of work. (3)
एष देवो अमर्त्यः पर्णवीरिव दीयते । अभि द्रोणान्यासदम् ॥ (४)

सोम अमर हैं. ये पक्षी के उड़ने की तरह वेग से ट्रोणकलश में प्रवेश करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Som is immortal. They enter the tronaculus at a velocity similar to the bird's flying velocity. (4)
एष विप्रैरभिष्टुतोऽपो देवो वि गाहते । दधद्रत्नानि दाशुषे ॥ (५)

सोम दिव्य और ब्राह्मणों द्वारा प्रशंसित हैं. ये जल में मिलते हैं. सोम यजमानों के लिए धन धारण करते हैं. (५)

Soma is divine and admired by Brahmins. They are found in water. Som holds money for the hosts. (5)
एष विश्वानि वार्या शूरो यन्निव सत्वभिः । पवमानः सिषासति ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शूरवीर जैसे बल प्रयोग करता है, वैसे ही सोम अपना धन देते हैं. ये बलशाली, सामर्थ्यवान और ऐश्वर्यशाली हैं. (६)

Just as the knight uses force, Soma gives his money. They are powerful, powerful and glorious. (6)
एष देवो रथर्यति पवमानो दिशस्यति । आविष्कृणोति वग्वनुम् ॥ (७)

सोम पवित्र हैं. ये यजमानों की इच्छा पूर्ति के लिए यज्ञ स्थान तक जाना चाहते हैं. ये आवाज करते हुए यज्ञ स्थान में जाने के लिए रथ चाहते हैं. (७)

Som is holy. They want to go to the yajna place to fulfill the wishes of the hosts. They want chariots to go to the yagna place while making these sounds. (7)
एष देवो विपन्युभिः पवमान ऋतायुभिः । हरिर्वाजाय मृज्यते ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम पवित्र हैं. पुरोहित सोम को साफ कर के प्रार्थनाओं से उसी तरह सजाते हैं, जैसे युद्ध में ले जाने के लिए घोड़ों को सजाया जाता है. (८)

Som is holy. Priests clean the soma and decorate it with prayers in the same way as horses are decorated to take it to war. (8)
एष देवो विपा कृतोऽति ह्वराँसि धावति । पवमानो अदाभ्यः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम पवित्र हैं और स्वयं किसी से नहीं दबते, पर ये स्वयं शत्रुओं को दबा देते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
Soma is pure and does not suppress himself by anyone, but he himself suppresses the enemies. (9)
एष दिवं वि धावति तिरो रजाँसि धारया । पवमानः कनिक्रदत् ॥ (१०)

सोम पवित्र हैं. वे छन कर धारा का रूप धर कर आवाज करते हुए शत्रुलोक को जीतते हैं. वे यज्ञ के प्रभाव से स्वर्गलोक की ओर दौड़ते हैं. (१०)

Som is holy. They filter and take the form of a stream and win the enemy land by making a sound. They run towards heaven with the effect of yajna. (10)
एष दिवं व्यासरत्तिरो रजाँस्यस्पृतः । पवमानः स्वध्वरः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम पवित्र हैं. वे अपने यज्ञ स्थान से स्वर्गलोक के लिए प्रस्थान करते हैं. वे यज्ञ के श्रेष्ठ साधन हैं और शत्रुओं को हरा सकने की सामर्थ्य रखते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
Som is holy. They depart from their yajna place to heaven. They are the best means of sacrifice and have the ability to defeat enemies. (11)
एष प्रत्नेन जन्मना देवो देवेभ्यः सुतः । हरिः पवित्रे अर्षति ॥ (१२)

सोम पवित्र और हरित कांति वाले हैं. देवताओं और उन की पीढठ़ियों द्वारा जन्म से ही पवित्रतापूर्वक उपयोग में लाए जाते हैं. (१२)

Som is a holy and green one. They are used sacredly from birth by the gods and their generations. (12)
एष उ स्य पुरुव्रतो जज्ञानो जनयन्निषः । धारया पवते सुतः ॥ (१३)

सोम पुष्टतादायी आहार को पैदा करते हैं. वे स्फूर्तिदायी कार्य क्षमता उत्पन्न करने वाले हैं. वे अपनी धाराओं से झरते हुए स्वतः ही स्वच्छ (पवित्र) हो जाते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Som produces a strong diet. They are invigorating work capacity generators. They automatically become clean (holy) while descending from their streams. (13)
