त्वं सो॑मासि धार॒युर्म॒न्द्र ओजि॑ष्ठो अध्व॒रे । पव॑स्व मंह॒यद्र॑यिः ॥ (१)

हे सोम! तुम अतिशय आनंददाता, परम तेजस्वी एवं हमारे यज्ञ में निचुड़ने वाली धाराओं के अभिलाषी हो. तुम स्तोताओं को धन देते हुए नीचे गिरो. (१)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You are the most joyful, the most glorious and the desire for the streams that leave in our yajna. You fall down giving money to the Psalms. (1)
स प॑वस्व॒ मदा॑य॒ कं नृ॒चक्षा॑ दे॒ववी॑तये । इन्द॒विन्द्रा॑य पी॒तये॑ ॥ (१)

हे नेताओं को देखने वाले सोम! तुम यज्ञ की पूर्ति एवं इंद्र के पीने के बाद मद तथा सुख के लिए टपको. (१)

O Mon who sees the leaders! You should pour out the fulfillment of the yajna and after indra's drinking, for the item and happiness. (1)
ए॒ते सोमा॑ अ॒भि प्रि॒यमिन्द्र॑स्य॒ काम॑मक्षरन् । वर्ध॑न्तो अस्य वी॒र्य॑म् ॥ (१)

यह सोम इंद्र का बल बढ़ाते हुए इंद्र के अभिलषित एवं प्रिय सोम को बरसावें. (१)

This soma should increase the strength of Indra and shower it on Indra's beloved Som. (1)
श॒र्य॒णाव॑ति॒ सोम॒मिन्द्रः॑ पिबतु वृत्र॒हा । बलं॒ दधा॑न आ॒त्मनि॑ करि॒ष्यन्वी॒र्यं॑ म॒हदिन्द्रा॑येन्दो॒ परि॑ स्रव ॥ (१)

शत्रुनाशक इंद्र शर्यणावत नामक तालाब में सोम को पिएं एवं आत्मविश्वासी व महान् शक्तिशाली बनें. हे सोम! तुम इंद्र के लिए रस टपकाओ. (१)
EN English Translation
Drink Som in a pond called the enemy destroyer Indra Sharyanavat and become confident and great powerful. Hey Mon! You drip juice to Indra. (1)
कनि॑क्रन्ति॒ हरि॒रा सृ॒ज्यमा॑नः॒ सीद॒न्वन॑स्य ज॒ठरे॑ पुना॒नः । नृभि॑र्य॒तः कृ॑णुते नि॒र्णिजं॒ गा अतो॑ म॒तीर्ज॑नयत स्व॒धाभिः॑ ॥ (१)

भली प्रकार निचोड़े जाने वाले एवं हरे रंग के सोम बार-बार शब्द करते हैं तथा छनते हुए द्रोणकलश के भीतर बैठकर शब्द करते हैं. ऋत्विजों द्वारा पकड़े गए सोम गाय के दूध आदि को ढकते हुए अपना आकार प्रकट करते हैं. हे स्तोताओ! ऐसे सोम के लिए हव्यों के साथ स्तुतियां अर्पित करो. (१)

The well-squeezed and green mons make the words again and again and sit inside the dronaclash and make the words while filtering. The mons caught by the ritwijas reveal their shape by covering the cow's milk etc. This stotao! Offer praises with havyas for such a mon. (1)
असृ॑ग्रन्दे॒ववी॑त॒येऽत्या॑सः॒ कृत्व्या॑ इव । क्षर॑न्तः पर्वता॒वृधः॑ ॥ (१)

पर्वतों पर उत्पन्न एवं रस टपकाते हुए सोम यज्ञ में उसी प्रकार तैयार किए जाते हैं, जिस प्रकार कार्यकुशल घोड़ा सजाया जाता है. (१)

Mons produced on the mountains and dripping juices are prepared in the yajna in the same way as the efficient horse is decorated. (1)
प्र से॑ना॒नीः शूरो॒ अग्रे॒ रथा॑नां ग॒व्यन्ने॑ति॒ हर्ष॑ते अस्य॒ सेना॑ । भ॒द्रान्कृ॒ण्वन्नि॑न्द्रह॒वान्सखि॑भ्य॒ आ सोमो॒ वस्त्रा॑ रभ॒सानि॑ दत्ते ॥ (१)

सेनापति एवं शूर सोम शत्रुओं की गाएं पाने की इच्छा करते हुए युद्ध में रथों के आगे जाते हैं. इससे सोम की सेना प्रसन्न होती है. सोम इंद्र के आहवानों को अपने मित्र यजमानों के लिए कल्याणकारी बनाते हुए दूध आदि ग्रहण करते हैं. दूध आदि इंद्र के शीघ्र आगमन के कारण हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The general and the shur som go in front of the chariots in the battle, wishing to get the songs of the enemies. This pleases Som's army. Som takes indra's aavaan, making them beneficial for his friend hosts, and milk etc. Milk etc. are the reasons for the early arrival of Indra. (1)
परि॑ प्रि॒या दि॒वः क॒विर्वयां॑सि न॒प्त्यो॑र्हि॒तः । सु॒वा॒नो या॑ति क॒विक्र॑तुः ॥ (१)

मेधावी एवं क्रांतकर्मा सोम निचोड़ने के तख्तों के बीच दबकर एवं निचुड़कर द्युलोक के अतिशय प्रिय पक्षियों के पास जाते हैं. (१)

The meritorious and the Krantkarma Som go to the most beloved birds of Dolok, buried and squeezed between the squeezing planks. (1)
अ॒या सोमः॑ सुकृ॒त्यया॑ म॒हश्चि॑द॒भ्य॑वर्धत । म॒न्दा॒न उद्वृ॑षायते ॥ (१)

निचोड़ने की इस शोभन क्रिया द्वारा सोम देवों के लिए वृद्धि को प्राप्त हुए हैं एवं प्रसन्न होकर बैल के समान शब्द करते हैं. (१)

Through this shobhan kriya of squeezing, the somas have attained growth for the devas and are pleased to say words like bulls. (1)
य इन्दोः॒ पव॑मान॒स्यानु॒ धामा॒न्यक्र॑मीत् । तमा॑हुः सुप्र॒जा इति॒ यस्ते॑ सो॒मावि॑ध॒न्मन॒ इन्द्रा॑येन्दो॒ परि॑ स्रव ॥ (१)

शुद्ध होते हुए सोम के तेज का जो ब्राह्मण अनुगमन करता है, लोग उसे शोभन प्रजा वाला कहते हैं. जो अपना मन सोम के अनुकूल बना लेता है, उसे भी भाग्यशाली कहते हैं. हे सोम! तुम इंद्र के लिए रस टपकाओ. (१)
EN English Translation
The Brahmin who follows the glory of Som while being clean, people call him Shobhan Praja Wala. The one who makes his mind friendly to Som is also called lucky. Hey Mon! You drip juice to Indra. (1)
तं त्वा॑ नृ॒म्णानि॒ बिभ्र॑तं स॒धस्थे॑षु म॒हो दि॒वः । चारुं॑ सुकृ॒त्यये॑महे ॥ (१)

हे महान् द्युलोक के समान स्थानों में स्थित, हमारे लिए धन एवं कल्याण धारण करने वाले एवं निचुड़ते हुए सोम! हम शोभन क्रिया द्वारा तुमसे धन मांगते हैं. (१)

O you who are located in places like the great dulok, the one who holds wealth and welfare for us and is helpless! We ask you for money through shobhan kriya. (1)
प्र स्वा॒नासो॒ रथा॑ इ॒वार्व॑न्तो॒ न श्र॑व॒स्यवः॑ । सोमा॑सो रा॒ये अ॑क्रमुः ॥ (१)

रथ और घोड़े के समान शब्द करने वाले निचुड़ते हुए सोम शत्रुओं का अन्न छीनने की अभिलाषा करते हुए यजमानों को धन देने के लिए आते हैं. (१)

The evasive Som, who speaks like chariots and horses, come to give money to the hosts, wishing to snatch away the food of the enemies. (1)
पव॑स्व वृ॒ष्टिमा सु नो॒ऽपामू॒र्मिं दि॒वस्परि॑ । अ॒य॒क्ष्मा बृ॑ह॒तीरिषः॑ ॥ (१)

हे सोम! तुम हमारे लिए द्युलोक से वर्षा गिराओ एवं जल की लहरें ले आओ. तुम हमें विशाल अन्न का क्षयरहित समूह दो. (१)

Hey Mon! You bring us rain from Doloka and bring us waves of water. You give us a decay-free group of vast grains. (1)
उत्ते॒ शुष्मा॑स ईरते॒ सिन्धो॑रू॒र्मेरि॑व स्व॒नः । वा॒णस्य॑ चोदया प॒विम् ॥ (१)

हे सोम! तुम्हारा वेग सागर की लहरों के समान चलता है. तुम धनुष से छोड़े हुए बाण के समान शब्द करो. (१)

Hey Mon! Your velocity moves like the waves of the ocean. Make a word like an arrow you left from the bow. (1)
उपा॑स्मै गायता नरः॒ पव॑माना॒येन्द॑वे । अ॒भि दे॒वाँ इय॑क्षते ॥ (१)

हे ऋत्विजो! यज्ञ करने के लिए देवों के अभिमुख जाने के इच्छुक एवं टपकते हुए सोमरस के लिए गाओ. (१)

प्र दे॒वमच्छा॒ मधु॑मन्त॒ इन्द॒वोऽसि॑ष्यदन्त॒ गाव॒ आ न धे॒नवः॑ । ब॒र्हि॒षदो॑ वच॒नाव॑न्त॒ ऊध॑भिः परि॒स्रुत॑मु॒स्रिया॑ नि॒र्णिजं॑ धिरे ॥ (१)

नशीले सोम दुधारू गायों के समान इंद्र के लिए रस टपकाते हैं. रंभाती हुई एवं कुशों पर बैठी हुई दुधारू गाएं अपने थनों से टपकने वाले सोमरस को दूध के रूप में धारण करती हैं. (१)

Intoxicating mon dripping juices to Indra like milch cows. The milch cows, which are ramming and sitting on the cushions, hold the somping somras dripping from their trunks in the form of milk. (1)
अ॒स्य प्रे॒षा हे॒मना॑ पू॒यमा॑नो दे॒वो दे॒वेभिः॒ सम॑पृक्त॒ रस॑म् । सु॒तः प॒वित्रं॒ पर्ये॑ति॒ रेभ॑न्मि॒तेव॒ सद्म॑ पशु॒मान्ति॒ होता॑ ॥ (१)

प्रेरणा करने वाले, स्वर्ण द्वारा शुद्ध होते हुए एवं दीप्तिशाली सोम अपना रस देवों के साथ संयुक्त करते हैं. निचुड़ते हुए सोम शब्द करके उसी प्रकार दशापवित्र की ओर जाते हैं. जिस प्रकार ऋत्विज् यजमान के भली प्रकार बने हुए एवं पशुयुक्त यज्ञगृह में जाता है. (१)

The inspiring, pure by gold and the radiant Soma combines his juice with the gods. In the same way, they go to Dashapavitra by doing the word 'Nikhurta Som'. Just as the ritwijjamaman goes to the well-made and animal-like yajnagriha. (1)
अध्व॑र्यो॒ अद्रि॑भिः सु॒तं सोमं॑ प॒वित्र॒ आ सृ॑ज । पु॒नी॒हीन्द्रा॑य॒ पात॑वे ॥ (१)

हे अध्वर्युगण! पत्थरों की सहायता से पीसे हुए सोम को दशापवित्र पर डालो. तुम इसे इंद्र के पीने के लिए शुद्ध करो. (१)

O teacher! Put the crushed mon on the dashapavitra with the help of stones. You purify it for Indra's drink. (1)

इषु॒र्न धन्व॒न्प्रति॑ धीयते म॒तिर्व॒त्सो न मा॒तुरुप॑ स॒र्ज्यूध॑नि । उ॒रुधा॑रेव दुहे॒ अग्र॑ आय॒त्यस्य॑ व्र॒तेष्वपि॒ सोम॑ इष्यते ॥ (१)

पवमान सोमरूपी इंद्र के प्रति हम अपनी स्तुति इस प्रकार अर्पित करते हैं, जिस प्रकार धनुष पर बाण रखा जाता है. जिस प्रकार बछड़ा गाय के थन का दूध पीने के लिए जन्म लेता है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र के नशे के लिए सोम की उत्पत्ति हुई है. जिस प्रकार दुधारू गाय बछड़े के सामने आकर दूध देती है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र स्तोताओं के सामने आकर विविध अभिलाषाएं पूरी करते हैं. इंद्र के यज्ञों में सोम की आवश्यकता पड़ती है. EN English Translation
We offer our praises to the pavaman somrupi indra in the same way that the arrow is placed on the bow. Just as the calf is born to drink the milk of the cow's trunk, so so is the origin of Som for Indra's intoxication. Just as the milch cow comes in front of the calf and gives milk, in the same way Indra comes in front of the stoetas and fulfills various desires. Som is required in indra's yajnas. (1)
उत्ते॒ शुष्मा॑सो अस्थू॒ रक्षो॑ भि॒न्दन्तो॑ अद्रिवः । नु॒दस्व॒ याः प॑रि॒स्पृधः॑ ॥ (१)

हे पत्थरों वाले सोम! तुम्हारे वेग राक्षसों को विदीर्ण करते हुए उठते हैं. ललकारती हुई जो शन्रुसेनाएं हमें बाधा पहुंचाती हैं, तुम उन्हें नष्ट करो. (१)

O Mon with stones! Your velocity rises, piercing the demons. The revolutionaries that hinder us, you destroy them. (1)
सोमः॑ पुना॒नो अ॑र्षति स॒हस्र॑धारो॒ अत्य॑विः । वा॒योरिन्द्र॑स्य निष्कृ॒तम् ॥ (१)

पवित्र करने वाले एवं हजारों धारा वाले सोम मेष के बालों के बने दशापवित्र को पार करके वायु और इंद्र के पीने हेतु पात्र में जाते हैं. (१)

The sanctifying and the thousands of streams cross the dasapavittra made of Aries' hair and goes to the vessel for air and indra's drinking. (1)
अ॒स्य प्र॒त्नामनु॒ द्युतं॑ शु॒क्रं दु॑दुह्रे॒ अह्र॑यः । पयः॑ सहस्र॒सामृषि॑म् ॥ (१)

विद्वान् ऋत्विज् सोम के प्राचीन, दीप्तिशाली, उज्ज्वल, असीमित अभिलाषाओं को देने वाले एवं कर्मफल के द्रष्टा रस को दुहते हैं. (१)

Scholars milk the ancient, glorious, bright, unlimited desires of Ritvij Som and the seer of the fruit of karma. (1)
यवं॑यवं नो॒ अन्ध॑सा पु॒ष्टम्पु॑ष्टं॒ परि॑ स्रव । सोम॒ विश्वा॑ च॒ सौभ॑गा ॥ (१)

हे सोम! तुम हमें अन्न के साथ पके हुए जौ अधिक मात्रा में दो तथा अन्य सौभाग्यसूचक संपत्तियां भी दो. (१)

Hey Mon! You give us more quantity of cooked barley with grain and other fortunate properties. (1)
त्रिर॑स्मै स॒प्त धे॒नवो॑ दुदुह्रे स॒त्यामा॒शिरं॑ पू॒र्व्ये व्यो॑मनि । च॒त्वार्य॒न्या भुव॑नानि नि॒र्णिजे॒ चारू॑णि चक्रे॒ यदृ॒तैरव॑र्धत ॥ (१)

शुद्ध होते हुए सोम के लिए प्राचीन लोगों द्वारा किए गए यज्ञ में इक्कीस गाएं दूध देती हैं. सोम जब यज्ञो द्वारा बढ़े, तब उन्होंने अपनी शुद्धि के लिए चार शोभन जल बनाए. (१)
EN English Translation
Twenty-one cows give milk in the yagna performed by the ancient people for the sun while being purified. When Som grew up through the yagnas, he made four shobhan waters for his purification. (1)
परि॒ सोम॑ ऋ॒तं बृ॒हदा॒शुः प॒वित्रे॑ अर्षति । वि॒घ्नन्रक्षां॑सि देव॒युः ॥ (१)

शीघ्रगति वाले व देवों के अभिलाषी सोम दशापवित्र पर स्थित होकर राक्षसों को नष्ट करते हैं एवं हमें विशाल अन्न देते हैं. (१)

The fast-paced and desiring mons of the gods, situated on the dashapavittra, destroys the demons and gives us huge food. (1)
परि॒ प्रासि॑ष्यदत्क॒विः सिन्धो॑रू॒र्मावधि॑ श्रि॒तः । का॒रं बिभ्र॑त्पुरु॒स्पृह॑म् ॥ (१)

मेधावी एवं नदी की तरंगों में आश्रित सोम बहुतों द्वारा बहने योग्य शब्द करते हुए बहते हैं. (१)

हे सोम! जिस प्रकार द्युलोक से होने वाली जलवर्षा प्रजाओं को हजारों तरह का अन्न देती है, उसी प्रकार तुम्हारी आसक्तिरहित धाराएं हमें अन्न देती हैं. (१)

Hey Mon! Just as the water from The Dulok gives thousands of kinds of food to the people, so your unattached streams give us food. (1)
आ दक्षि॑णा सृज्यते शु॒ष्म्या॒३॒॑सदं॒ वेति॑ द्रु॒हो र॒क्षसः॑ पाति॒ जागृ॑विः । हरि॑रोप॒शं कृ॑णुते॒ नभ॒स्पय॑ उप॒स्तिरे॑ च॒म्वो॒३॒॑र्ब्रह्म॑ नि॒र्णिजे॑ ॥ (१)

सोम-संबंधी यज्ञ में ऋत्विजों को दक्षिणा दी जाती है. शक्तिशाली सोम द्रोणकलश में प्रवेश करते हैं. जागरणशील सोम अपने स्तोताओं को द्रोही राक्षसों से बचाते हैं. हरे रंग वाले सोम सबके धारण करने वाले एवं आकाश के तल-जल को बनाते हैं तथा द्यावा-पृथिवी को ढकने के लिए तथा अंधकार मिटाने के लिए सूर्य को स्थिर करते हैं. In the Som-related yajna, dakshina is given to the ritvijas. Enter the powerful Mon Dronakalash. Jagajeel Som protects his stoes from the evil demons. The green-colored mons make up the water of the sky, which is ensconced by all, and stabilizes the sun to cover the dyava-earth and remove the darkness. (1)
