मा चि॑द॒न्यद्वि शं॑सत॒ सखा॑यो॒ मा रि॑षण्यत । इन्द्र॒मित्स्तो॑ता॒ वृष॑णं॒ सचा॑ सु॒ते मुहु॑रु॒क्था च॑ शंसत ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र स्तोताओ! तुम इंद्र के अतिरिक्त किसी की स्तुति मत करो. तुम क्षीण मत बनो. सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर एकत्र होकर अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र की स्तुति करते हुए बार-बार स्तोत्र बोलो. (१)
EN English Translation
This friend, Stotao! You don't praise anyone other than Indra. You don't be weak. When you go to Someras Nichud, gather and say hymns again and again praising the desireful Indra. (1)
अ॒व॒क्र॒क्षिणं॑ वृष॒भं य॑था॒जुरं॒ गां न च॑र्षणी॒सह॑म् । वि॒द्वेष॑णं सं॒वन॑नोभयंक॒रं मंहि॑ष्ठमुभया॒विन॑म् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! बैल के समान शत्रुनाशक, युवा बैल के समान शत्रुमानवों को जीतने वाले, शत्रुओं से द्वेष रखने वाले, स्तोताओं द्वारा सेवायोग्य, कृपा द्वारा दिव्य एवं पार्थिव दोनों प्रकार का धन देने वाले, दाताओं में श्रेष्ठ एवं दोनों प्रकार के धन से युक्त इंद्र की स्तुति करो. (२)
EN English Translation
O stotao! Praise Indra, who is an enemy-destroyer like a bull, who conquers the enemy like a young bull, who grudges enemies, deserves respect, who gracefully gives both divine and earthly wealth, who is best in the donors and has both kinds of divine and earthly wealth. (2)
यच्चि॒द्धि त्वा॒ जना॑ इ॒मे नाना॒ हव॑न्त ऊ॒तये॑ । अ॒स्माकं॒ ब्रह्मे॒दमि॑न्द्र भूतु॒ तेऽहा॒ विश्वा॑ च॒ वर्ध॑नम् ॥ (३)

हे इंद्र! ये लोग यद्यपि अपनी रक्षा के लिए तुम्हारी भांति-भांति से स्तुतियां करते हैं परंतु हमारा यह स्तोत्र तुम्हारा सदैव वृद्धिकारक हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Although these people praise you in a way for their protection, this hymn of ours is always yours of growth. (3)
वि त॑र्तूर्यन्ते मघवन्विप॒श्चितो॒ऽर्यो विपो॒ जना॑नाम् । उप॑ क्रमस्व पुरु॒रूप॒मा भ॑र॒ वाजं॒ नेदि॑ष्ठमू॒तये॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! तुम्हारे विद्वान् स्तोता तुम्हारे शत्रु लोगों को भय के कारण कंपन उत्पन्न करते हैं एवं बार-बार विपत्तियों को पार कर जाते हैं. तुम हमारे पास आओ एवं हमारी रक्षा के लिए हमें अनेक रूप वाला एवं समीपवर्ती अन्न दो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Dhanaswami Indra! Your learned stothas make your enemies tremble out of fear and over and over again and again. You come to us and give us many forms of food and near to protect us. (4)
म॒हे च॒न त्वाम॑द्रिवः॒ परा॑ शु॒ल्काय॑ देयाम् । न स॒हस्रा॑य॒ नायुता॑य वज्रिवो॒ न श॒ताय॑ शतामघ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! मैं तुम्हें अधिकतम मूल्य में भी नहीं बेचूंगा. हे हाथ में वज्र रखने वाले इंद्र। मैं हजार, दस हजार अथवा असीमित धन के बदले भी नहीं बेच सकता. (५)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! I won't even sell you at the maximum price. O Indra who holds the thunderbolt in his hand. I can't sell in exchange for a thousand, ten thousand or even unlimited money. (5)
वस्या॑ँ इन्द्रासि मे पि॒तुरु॒त भ्रातु॒रभु॑ञ्जतः । मा॒ता च॑ मे छदयथः स॒मा व॑सो वसुत्व॒नाय॒ राध॑से ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम मेरे पिता की अपेक्षा भी अधिक संपत्तिशाली हो. तुम मेरे न भागने वाले भाई से भी महान् हो. हे निवासयुक्त इंद्र! तुम एवं मेरी माता मिलकर मुझे व्यापक धन के लिए पूजित करो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You're even more wealthy than my father. You are greater than my unspoiled brother. O abode Indra! Together you and my mother worship me for vast wealth. (6)
क्वे॑यथ॒ क्वेद॑सि पुरु॒त्रा चि॒द्धि ते॒ मनः॑ । अल॑र्षि युध्म खजकृत्पुरंदर॒ प्र गा॑य॒त्रा अ॑गासिषुः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम कहां गए? तुम कहां हो? तुम्हारा मन विभिन्न दिशाओं में रहता है. हे युद्धकुशल, युद्धकर्तता एवं शत्रुनगरी को भेदने वाले इंद्र! आओ. स्तोता तुम्हारी स्तुतियां गाते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Where did you go? Where are you? Your mind lives in different directions. O indra, who is capable of war, of war, and of penetrating the enemy city! Come. The stotas sing your praises. (7)
प्रास्मै॑ गाय॒त्रम॑र्चत वा॒वातु॒र्यः पु॑रंद॒रः । याभिः॑ का॒ण्वस्योप॑ ब॒र्हिरा॒सदं॒ यास॑द्व॒ज्री भि॒नत्पुरः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! इस इंद्र के लिए गाने योग्य स्तुतियां गाओ. शत्रुनगरी का भेदन करने वाले इंद्र सबके लिए सेवा करने योग्य हैं. जिन ऋचाओं को सुनकर इंद्र वज्र धारण करके कण्वपुत्रों के यज्ञ में बिछे कुशों पर बैठे थे एवं शत्रुओं की नगरियों को तोड़ा था, उन्हीं त्रचाओं द्वारा गाने योग्य स्तुति गाओ. (८)
EN English Translation
This stotao! Sing songs worthy praises for this Indra. Indra, who penetrates the enemy city, is worthy of service to all. On hearing the riches, indra, wearing a vajra, sat on the kushas in the yagna of the kanvaputras and broke the cities of the enemies, sing praises worthy of being sung by the same trichas. (8)
ये ते॒ सन्ति॑ दश॒ग्विनः॑ श॒तिनो॒ ये स॑ह॒स्रिणः॑ । अश्वा॑सो॒ ये ते॒ वृष॑णो रघु॒द्रुव॒स्तेभि॑र्न॒स्तूय॒मा ग॑हि ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे जो दश योजन चलने वाले सौ एवं एक हजार घोड़े हैं, वे अभिलाषापूरक एवं शीघ्रगामी हैं. उन घोड़ों की सहायता से यहां शीघ्र आओ. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The hundred and one thousand horses that you have to ride on are wishful and fast-moving. Come here quickly with the help of those horses. (9)
आ त्व१॒॑द्य स॑ब॒र्दुघां॑ हु॒वे गा॑य॒त्रवे॑पसम् । इन्द्रं॑ धे॒नुं सु॒दुघा॒मन्या॒मिष॑मु॒रुधा॑रामरं॒कृत॑म् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आज मैं दूध देने वाली, प्रशंसनीय चाल वाली एवं सरलता से दुहने योग्य इंद्ररूपी गाय की स्तुति करता हूं. इसके अतिरिक्त वह गाय उदकरूपी अनेक धाराओं वाली एवं मनचाही वर्षा करने वाली है. (१०)
EN English Translation
Today, I praise the milking, praiseworthy, and easily milky rainbow cow. In addition, the cow is a rising and rainy-like one with many streams. (10)
यत्तु॒दत्सूर॒ एत॑शं व॒ङ्कू वात॑स्य प॒र्णिना॑ । वह॒त्कुत्स॑मार्जुने॒यं श॒तक्र॑तुः॒ त्सर॑द्गन्ध॒र्वमस्तृ॑तम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस समय सूर्य ने एतश नामक राजर्षि को दुःख दिया, उस समय टेढ़े चलने वाले एवं वायु के समान तेज दीड़ने वाले घोड़ों ने अर्जुन के पुत्र कुत्स ऋषि को वहन किया था. विविध कर्म करने वाले इंद्र किरणों वाले एवं अपराजित सूर्य पर छिपकर आक्रमण करने गए थे. (११)
EN English Translation
At the time when the sun grieved rajarshi named Etash, the horse, who were crooked and as fast as the wind, carried the sage Kutsa, the son of Arjuna. Indra, who performed various deeds, went to attack the sun by hiding on the rays and the undefeated sun. (11)
य ऋ॒ते चि॑दभि॒श्रिषः॑ पु॒रा ज॒त्रुभ्य॑ आ॒तृदः॑ । संधा॑ता सं॒धिं म॒घवा॑ पुरू॒वसु॒रिष्क॑र्ता॒ विह्रु॑तं॒ पुनः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र शीश कटने पर रक्त निकलने के पहले ही जोड़ने वाले द्रव्य के अभाव में भी शीश और धड़ को जोड़ देते हैं. धनवान् एवं अनेक धनों के स्वामी इंद्र अलग-अलग भागों को सुधार देते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
Indra connects the shisha and the torso even in the absence of the connecting fluid even before the blood is released when the shisha is cut. Indra, the lord of wealth and many riches, improves different parts. (12)
मा भू॑म॒ निष्ट्या॑ इ॒वेन्द्र॒ त्वदर॑णा इव । वना॑नि॒ न प्र॑जहि॒तान्य॑द्रिवो दु॒रोषा॑सो अमन्महि ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारी कृपा से हम क्षीण, दुःखी एवं शाखाहीन वनों के समान संतानहीन न हों. हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! हम घरों में रहते हुए तुम्हारी स्तुति करें. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! By your grace, let us not be as childless as weak, sorrowful and branchless forests. O thunderbolt Indra! We praise you while we are at home. (13)
अम॑न्म॒हीद॑ना॒शवो॑ऽनु॒ग्रास॑श्च वृत्रहन् । स॒कृत्सु ते॑ मह॒ता शू॑र॒ राध॑सा॒ अनु॒ स्तोमं॑ मुदीमहि ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृत्रहंता इंद्र! हम धीरे-धीरे, उग्रतारहित एवं भक्ति व श्रद्धापूर्वक हविरूप महान् धन के साथ तुम्हारी स्तुति बोलेंगे. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Vrithrahanta Indra! We will speak your praises slowly, without resentment and with devotion and reverence. (14)
यदि॒ स्तोमं॒ मम॒ श्रव॑द॒स्माक॒मिन्द्र॒मिन्द॑वः । ति॒रः प॒वित्रं॑ ससृ॒वांस॑ आ॒शवो॒ मन्द॑न्तु तुग्र्या॒वृधः॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र यदि हमारी स्तुति सुन लें तो हमारे वक्रभाव से रखे हुए, दशापवित्र भाव द्वारा शुद्ध एकधन नामक जल से वृद्धि को प्राप्त एवं नशीले सोमरस उन्हे प्रसन्न कर सकते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
If Indra hears our praise, then our curved spirit, by the dashapavitra bhava, can get the growth from the water called Pure Ekdhan and the intoxicating somras can please him. (15)
आ त्व१॒॑द्य स॒धस्तु॑तिं वा॒वातुः॒ सख्यु॒रा ग॑हि । उप॑स्तुतिर्म॒घोनां॒ प्र त्वा॑व॒त्वधा॑ ते वश्मि सुष्टु॒तिम् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! अन्य लोगों के साथ की जाती हुई अपने सेवक स्तोता की स्तुति सुनकर शीघ्र उसके पास आओ. हवि धारण करने वाले अन्य स्तोताओं की स्तुतियां भी तुम्हारे पास पहुंचें. इस समय मैं तुम्हारी शोभनस्तुति की कामना करता हूं. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Hear the praise of your servant Stota, who is being accompanied by others, and come to him quickly. Also come to you the praises of the other hymns who wear the haavi. At this time, I wish you a very goodwill. (16)
सोता॒ हि सोम॒मद्रि॑भि॒रेमे॑नम॒प्सु धा॑वत । ग॒व्या वस्त्रे॑व वा॒सय॑न्त॒ इन्नरो॒ निर्धु॑क्षन्व॒क्षणा॑भ्यः ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्यु लोगो! पत्थरों की सहायता से सोमलता का रस निचोड़ो तथा उसे पानी में धोओ. लोग गोदुग्ध मिले सोमरस को कपड़े से ढककर नदियों से जल दुहते हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O adhwaryu logo! Squeeze the somalta juice with the help of stones and wash it in water. People cover the somras with a cloth and milk water from the rivers. (17)
अध॒ ज्मो अध॑ वा दि॒वो बृ॑ह॒तो रो॑च॒नादधि॑ । अ॒या व॑र्धस्व त॒न्वा॑ गि॒रा ममा जा॒ता सु॑क्रतो पृण ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम धरती अथवा विशाल प्रकाशपूर्ण अंतरिक्ष से आकर मेरी विशाल स्तुति सुनो और वृद्धि प्राप्त करो. हे शोभनरूप वाले इंद्र! मेरी इस विस्तृत स्तुति को सुनकर मनुष्यों की अभिलाषा पूरी करो. (१८)

O Indra! Come from the earth or the vast luminous space and listen to My great praise and gain growth. O Indra of grace! Listen to this elaborate praise of Mine and fulfill the desire of men. (18)
इन्द्रा॑य॒ सु म॒दिन्त॑मं॒ सोमं॑ सोता॒ वरे॑ण्यम् । श॒क्र ए॑णं पीपय॒द्विश्व॑या धि॒या हि॑न्वा॒नं न वा॑ज॒युम् ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्यु लोगो! इंद्र के लिए सबसे अधिक नशीला एवं वरण करने योग्य सोमरस भेंट करो. हे इंद्र! तुम समस्त यज्ञकार्यों द्वारा प्रसन्न करने वाले एवं अन्न चाहने वाले यजमान को उन्नतिशील बनाओ. (१९)
EN English Translation
O adhwaryu logo! Offer the most intoxicating and selectable somras to Indra. O Indra! You make the host who pleases and wants food through all the sacrificial works to progress. (19)
मा त्वा॒ सोम॑स्य॒ गल्द॑या॒ सदा॒ याच॑न्न॒हं गि॒रा । भूर्णिं॑ मृ॒गं न सव॑नेषु चुक्रुधं॒ क ईशा॑नं॒ न या॑चिषत् ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यज्ञ में मैं सोमरस निचोड़कर एवं स्तुति द्वारा सदा तुमसे याचना करके तुम्हें क्रोधित न बनाऊं. तुम सबके भरणपोषण करने वाले एवं सिंह के समान भयानक हो. ऐसा कौन है जो सबके स्वामी तुमसे याचना नहीं करता. (२०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! In yajna, I will not make you angry by squeezing the somras and pleading with you always through praise. You are as awesome as the one who feeds you all and the lion. Who is it that the master of all does not ask you? (20)
मदे॑नेषि॒तं मद॑मु॒ग्रमु॒ग्रेण॒ शव॑सा । विश्वे॑षां तरु॒तारं॑ मद॒च्युतं॒ मदे॒ हि ष्मा॒ ददा॑ति नः ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अधिक बल से युक्त इंद्र मादक स्तोता द्वारा दिया गया नशीला सोमरस पिएं. सोमरस का नशा होने पर इंद्र हमें शत्रुओं को जीतने वाला एवं उनका गर्व नष्ट करने वाला पुत्र दें. (२१)
EN English Translation
Drink the intoxicating somras given by Indra's intoxicating hymn with more force. When somras is intoxicated, Indra will give us a son who conquers the enemies and destroys their pride. (21)
शेवा॑रे॒ वार्या॑ पु॒रु दे॒वो मर्ता॑य दा॒शुषे॑ । स सु॑न्व॒ते च॑ स्तुव॒ते च॑ रासते वि॒श्वगू॑र्तो अरिष्टु॒तः ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र देव यज्ञ में हव्य देने वाले मनुष्य को बहुतों द्वारा वरण करने योग्य धन देते हैं. सब कामों में तत्पर एवं प्रेरकों द्वारा प्रशंसित इंद्र सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले एवं स्तुति करने वाले को धन देते हैं. (२२)
EN English Translation
Indra Dev gives money to the man who gives havan in the yajna to be chosen by many. Indra Somras, who is quick in all works and admired by motivators, gives wealth to the one who squeezes and praises. (22)
एन्द्र॑ याहि॒ मत्स्व॑ चि॒त्रेण॑ देव॒ राध॑सा । सरो॒ न प्रा॑स्यु॒दरं॒ सपी॑तिभि॒रा सोमे॑भिरु॒रु स्फि॒रम् ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र देव! तुम आओ और दर्शनीय धन द्वारा प्रसन्न बनो. तुम मरुतों के साथ पिए जाते हुए सोमरस से अपने तालाब के समान विशाल उदर को भर लो. (२३)
EN English Translation
O God of Indra! You come and be pleased with the visible wealth. Fill your pond-like huge stomach with somras while you are drunk with maruts. (23)
आ त्वा॑ स॒हस्र॒मा श॒तं यु॒क्ता रथे॑ हिर॒ण्यये॑ । ब्र॒ह्म॒युजो॒ हर॑य इन्द्र के॒शिनो॒ वह॑न्तु॒ सोम॑पीतये ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! ब्रहम से युक्त सैकड़ों और हजारों घोड़े सोमरस पीने के लिए तुम्हें सोने के बने रथ पर ढोवें. (२४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Hundreds and thousands of horses containing brahmas should drink somras to carry you on a chariot made of gold. (24)
आ त्वा॒ रथे॑ हिर॒ण्यये॒ हरी॑ म॒यूर॑शेप्या । शि॒ति॒पृ॒ष्ठा व॑हतां॒ मध्वो॒ अन्ध॑सो वि॒वक्ष॑णस्य पी॒तये॑ ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मोर के रंग वाले एवं सफेद पीठ वाले घोड़े स्तुतियोग्य मधुर सोमरस पीने के लिए इंद्र को सोने के बने रथ में बैठा कर ढोवें. (२५)
EN English Translation
Peacock-colored and white-backed horses should carry Indra in a chariot made of gold to drink the praiseworthy sweet somras. (25)
पिबा॒ त्व१॒॑स्य गि॑र्वणः सु॒तस्य॑ पूर्व॒पा इ॑व । परि॑ष्कृतस्य र॒सिन॑ इ॒यमा॑सु॒तिश्चारु॒र्मदा॑य पत्यते ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तुतियों द्वारा प्रशंसनीय इंद्र! तुम सर्वप्रथम सोमरस पीने वाले की तरह निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पिओ. यह शुद्ध, रसीला, नशीला एवं सुंदर सोमरस नशा उत्पन्न करने के लिए ही बनाया गया है. (२६)
EN English Translation
O Indra admirable by the praises! You first drink the squeezed somras like a somras drinker. It is designed only to produce pure, lush, intoxicating and beautiful somras intoxication. (26)
य एको॒ अस्ति॑ दं॒सना॑ म॒हाँ उ॒ग्रो अ॒भि व्र॒तैः । गम॒त्स शि॒प्री न स यो॑ष॒दा ग॑म॒द्धवं॒ न परि॑ वर्जति ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इंद्र अपने कार्यो द्वारा एकमात्र महान् एवं शूर हैं, जो सबको पराजित करने वाले एवं सिर पर टोप धारण करने वाले हैं, केवल वे ही आवें एवं हमसे अलग न हों. वे हमारे स्तोत्र को सुनकर हमारे सामने आवें एवं हमारा त्याग न करें. (२७)
EN English Translation
The Indras who are the only great and brave by their actions, who defeat all and wear a cap on their heads, are the only ones who come and do not separate from us. They should listen to our hymns and come before us and do not forsake us. (27)
त्वं पुरं॑ चरि॒ष्ण्वं॑ व॒धैः शुष्ण॑स्य॒ सं पि॑णक् । त्वं भा अनु॑ चरो॒ अध॑ द्वि॒ता यदि॑न्द्र॒ हव्यो॒ भुवः॑ ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने शुष्ण असुर के चलतेफिरते निवासस्थान को अपने वञ्ज से पीस डाला था. हे स्तोता एवं यज्ञकर्ता-दोनों के द्वारा बुलाने योग्य इंद्र! तुमने तेजस्वी होकर शुष्ण असुर का पीछा किया था. (२८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You had grinded the abode with your vanja in the wake of the Shushna Asura. This is indra worthy of being called by both the stota and the yajnakarta! You chased the shushna asura by being stunning. (28)
मम॑ त्वा॒ सूर॒ उदि॑ते॒ मम॑ म॒ध्यंदि॑ने दि॒वः । मम॑ प्रपि॒त्वे अ॑पिशर्व॒रे व॑स॒वा स्तोमा॑सो अवृत्सत ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे निवासस्थान देने वाले इंद्र! तुम सूर्योदय के समय, दोपहर होने पर, दिन की समाप्ति पर एवं रात के समय मेरी स्तुतियों को मुझे लौटाओ. (२९)

O Indra, who gives the abode! You return to me my praises at sunrise, at noon, at the end of the day, and at night. (29)
स्तु॒हि स्तु॒हीदे॒ते घा॑ ते॒ मंहि॑ष्ठासो म॒घोना॑म् । नि॒न्दि॒ताश्वः॑ प्रप॒थी प॑रम॒ज्या म॒घस्य॑ मेध्यातिथे ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मेधातिथि ऋषि! तुम मुझ राजा आसंग की बार-बार स्तुति एवं प्रार्थना करो. मैं धन वालों में सबसे अधिक धन देने वाला हूं. मुझ उन्नत मार्ग एवं श्रेष्ठ आयुध वाले के बल के सामने दूसरों के घोड़े हार जाते हैं. (३०)
EN English Translation
O Sage of Medhati! Praise and pray to me king Asang again and again. I am the highest giver of money among the wealthiest. In front of me the advanced path and the force of the best ordnance, the horses of others are defeated. (30)
