यो भू॒तं च॒ भव्यं॑ च॒ सर्वं॒ यश्चा॑धि॒तिष्ठ॑ति । स्वर्यस्य॑ च॒ केव॑लं॒ तस्मै॑ ज्ये॒ष्ठाय॒ ब्रह्म॑णे॒ नमः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इन भूत, भविष्य तथा वर्तमान कालों को व्याप्त कर के स्थित है तथा जिस का स्वरूप केवल प्रकाशमय है, उसी ज्येष्ठ ब्रह्म को मैं नमस्कार करता हूं. (१)
EN English Translation
I salute the Jyeshtha Brahm, who is situated by spreading these past, future and present times and whose form is only light. (1)
यां क॒ल्पय॑न्ति वह॒तौ व॒धूमि॑व वि॒श्वरू॑पां॒ हस्त॑कृतां चिकि॒त्सवः॑ । सारादे॒त्वप॑ नुदाम एनाम् ॥ (१)

कृत्या को बनाने वाले उसे उपहार के साथ प्राप्त होने वाली वधू के समान सजाते हैं. हम उसी कृत्या को भगाते हैं. वह कृत्या हम से दूर चली जाए. (१)

The makers of krita decorate her like a bride who receives it with gifts. We drive away the same act. Let that act go away from us. (1)
केन॒ पार्ष्णी॒ आभृ॑ते॒ पूरु॑षस्य॒ केन॑ मां॒सं संभृ॑तं॒ केन॑ गु॒ल्फौ । केना॒ङ्गुलीः॒ पेश॑नीः॒ केन॒ खानि॒ केनो॑च्छ्ल॒ङ्खौ म॑ध्य॒तः कः प्र॑ति॒ष्ठाम् ॥ (१)

मनुष्य की एड़ियों को, टखनों को और मांस को किस ने पुष्ट बनाया? मनुष्य की सुंदर उंगलियों को किस ने पुष्ट किया? उंगलियों के मध्य में नसों को किस ने स्थित किया? (१)

Who strengthened man's ankles, ankles, and flesh? Who confirmed man's beautiful fingers? Who positioned the veins in the middle of the fingers? (1)
अघाय॒तामपि॑ नह्या॒ मुखा॑नि स॒पत्ने॑षु॒ वज्र॑मर्पयै॒तम् । इन्द्रे॑ण द॒त्ता प्र॑थ॒मा श॒तौद॑ना भ्रातृव्य॒घ्नी यज॑मानस्य गा॒तुः ॥ (१)

यह धेनु पापियों के मुखों को बंद करे और शत्रुओं पर इस वज्र को गिराए. इंद्र के द्वारा दी हुई यह सब से पहली शतौदना गाय शत्रु विनाशिनी एवं यजमान का मार्गदर्शन करने वाली है. (१)
EN English Translation
May this dhenu close the faces of sinners and drop this thunderbolt on the enemies. The first of all this shataudana cows given by Indra is going to guide the enemy destroyer and the host. (1)
अ॒यं मे॑ वर॒णो म॒णिः स॑पत्न॒क्षय॑णो॒ वृषा॑ । ते॒ना र॑भस्व॒ त्वं शत्रू॒न्प्र मृ॑णीहि दुरस्य॒तः ॥ (१)

यह मेरी वरण वृक्ष की मणि शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाली और अभिलाषा पूरक है. इसे धारण कर के तू उद्योग कर और दुष्टता करने वाले शत्रुओं का विनाश कर. (१)

This gem of my varan tree destroys enemies and complements desire. By wearing it, you do industry and destroy the enemies who do evil. (1)
इन्द्र॑स्य प्रथ॒मो रथो॑ दे॒वाना॒मप॑रो॒ रथो॒ वरु॑णस्य तृ॒तीय॒ इत् । अही॑नामप॒मा रथः॑ स्था॒णुमा॑र॒दथा॑र्षत् ॥ (१)

इंद्र का रथ पहला, देवों का दूसरा और वरुण का तीसरा है. सर्पो का रथ अपमा अर्थात् निम्न गतिशील नामक है, जो स्थाणु अर्थात् सूखे वृक्षों से अधिक रमणीय है एवं तेज चलता है. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra's chariot is the first, the second of the Devas and the third of Varuna. The chariot of serpents is called Apma i.e. low dynamic, which is more delightful than Sthanu i.e. dry trees and moves fast. (1)
इन्द्र॒स्यौज॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य॒ सह॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य॒ बलं॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य वी॒र्यं स्थेन्द्र॑स्य नृ॒म्णं स्थ॑ । जि॒ष्णवे॒ योगा॑य ब्रह्मयो॒गैर्वो॑ युनज्मि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जलो! तुम इंद्र के ओज, बल एवं वीर्य हो. तुम ही इंद्र को नवीन बनाने वाली शक्ति हो तथा तुम ही इंद्र के ऐश्वर्य हो. मैं तुम्हें ब्रह्म योगों से युक्त कर के विजय दिलाने वाले योग की क्षमता वाला बनाता हूं. (१)
EN English Translation
O burn! You are indra's oz, strength and semen. You are the power that makes Indra new and you are the opulence of Indra. I make you capable of conquering you with Brahma Yogas. (1)
अराती॒योर्भ्रातृ॑व्यस्य दु॒र्हार्दो॑ द्विष॒तः शिरः॑ । अपि॑ वृश्चा॒म्योज॑सा ॥ (१)

बंधुओं में जो मेरा शत्रु, दुष्ट हृदय वाला और द्वेष करने वाला है, उस का शीश भी मैं वेग से तोड़ता हूं. (१)

I also break the head of the one who is my enemy, evil-hearted and hater among the brothers. (1)
कस्मि॒न्नङ्गे॒ तपो॑ अ॒स्याधि॑ तिष्ठति॒ कस्मि॒न्नङ्ग॑ ऋ॒तम॒स्याध्याहि॑तम् । क्व व्र॒तं क्व श्र॒द्धास्य॑ तिष्ठति॒ कस्मि॒न्नङ्गे॑ स॒त्यम॑स्य॒ प्रति॑ष्ठितम् ॥ (१)

इस मनुष्य के किस अंग में तपस्या करने की शक्ति स्थित है? इस मनुष्य के किस अंग में सत्य भाषण की क्षमता स्थित है? इस मनुष्य के किस अंग में व्रत अर्थात् दृढ़ निश्चय और श्रद्धा, किस अंग में स्थित रहती है? इस मनुष्य के किस अंग में सत्य प्रतिष्ठित है? (१)
EN English Translation
In which part of this human being is the power to do penance? In which part of this human being is the capacity for true speech located? In which part of this man is the fast, that is, determination and faith, located in which part? In which part of this man is truth established? (1)
स्क॒म्भेने॒मे विष्ट॑भिते॒ द्यौश्च॒ भूमि॑श्च तिष्ठतः । स्क॒म्भ इ॒दं सर्व॑मात्म॒न्वद्यत्प्रा॒णन्नि॑मि॒षच्च॒ यत् ॥ (२)

परमात्मा के द्वारा धारण की हुई भूमि और स्वर्ग अपने स्थान पर स्थित हैं. जो सांस लेते हैं और जो पलक झपकाते हैं, वे सब आत्मा के समान परमात्मा में व्याप्त हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The land and heaven possessed by God are located in their place. Those who breathe and those who blink are all pervaded in god like the soul. (2)
शी॑र्ष॒ण्वती॑ न॒स्वती॑ क॒र्णिनी॑ कृत्या॒कृता॒ संभृ॑ता वि॒श्वरू॑पा । सारादे॒त्वप॑ नुदाम एनाम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सिर, नाक, कान आदि अंगों से युक्त बनाई गई कृत्या अनेक प्रकार की आपत्तियां लाती है. उसे हम भगाते हैं. वह हमारे पास से दूर चली जाए. (२)

An act made with organs like head, nose, ears etc. brings many types of objections. We drive him away. Let him go away from us. (2)
कस्मा॒न्नु गु॒ल्फावध॑रावकृण्वन्नष्ठी॒वन्ता॒वुत्त॑रौ॒ पूरु॑षस्य । जङ्घे॑ नि॒रृत्य॒ न्यदधुः॒ क्व स्वि॒ज्जानु॑नोः स॒न्धी क उ॒ तच्चि॑केत ॥ (२)

नीचे के टखनों को किस से बनाया गया? पुरुष के घुटनों को, जांघों को तथा चरणों के मध्य को किस से बनाया गया? घुटनों का जोड़ कहां है और उसे कौन जानता है? (२)

What are the bottom ankles made of? What is the man's knees, thighs and legs made from? Where is the joint of the knees and who knows it? (2)
वेदि॑ष्टे॒ चर्म॑ भवतु ब॒र्हिर्लोमा॑नि॒ यानि॑ ते । ए॒षा त्वा॑ रश॒नाग्र॑भी॒द्ग्रावा॑ त्वै॒षोऽधि॑ नृत्यतु ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शतौदना गौ! तेरे रोम कुशों के रूप में हैं और यज्ञ वेदी तेरा चर्म है. यह रस्सी तुझे बांध रही है. यह पत्थर तेरे ऊपर नृत्य करे. (२)
EN English Translation
O Shataudana Gau! Your hair is in the form of Kushas and the sacrificial altar is your skin. This rope is tying you. May this stone dance over you. (2)
यो वि॒द्यात्स॒प्त प्र॒वतः॑ स॒प्त वि॒द्यात्प॑रा॒वतः॑ । शिरो॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॒ यो वि॒द्यात्स व॒शां प्रति॑ गृह्णीयात् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो वशा गौ के समीप रहने वाली सात वस्तुओं और दूर रहने वाली सात वस्तुओं को जानता हो तथा यज्ञ का शीश जानता हो, वही वशा गौ का दान स्वीकार करे. (२)
EN English Translation
The one who knows the seven things living near the vasha cow and the seven things living far away and knows the head of the yajna, he should accept the donation of the vasha cow. (2)
प्रैणा॑ञ्छृणीहि॒ प्र मृ॒णा र॑भस्व म॒णिस्ते॑ अस्तु पुरए॒ता पु॒रस्ता॑त् । अवा॑रयन्त वर॒णेन॑ दे॒वा अ॑भ्याचा॒रमसु॑राणां॒ श्वः श्वः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तू इन शत्रुओं का विनाश कर, इन्हें मसल दे और प्रसन्न बन. यह मणि तेरे आगेआगे चले. वरण वृक्ष से निर्मित इस मणि की सहायता से देवों ने असुरों द्वारा किए गए जादूटोनों का दूसरे दिन ही निवारण कर दिया था. (२)
EN English Translation
Destroy these enemies, crush them and be happy. This gem goes ahead of you. With the help of this gem made from the varan tree, the devas had removed the witchcraft done by the asuras on the second day itself. (2)
द॒र्भः शो॒चिस्त॒रूण॑क॒मश्व॑स्य॒ वारः॑ परु॒षस्य॒ वारः॑ । रथ॑स्य॒ बन्धु॑रम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दर्भ सर्पो को शोक देने वाला है, यह तरुणक एवं अश्व नामक सर्पो के विष का निरोधक है. परुष नामक सर्प के विष का निवारण करने वाला दर्भ रथ का बाधक है. (२)
EN English Translation
Darbha is going to mourn the serpent, it is the prevention of the poison of snakes called Young and Horse. The darbha, which removes the poison of a snake called Parush, is the obstacle of the chariot. (2)
इन्द्र॒स्यौज॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य॒ सह॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य॒ बलं॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य वी॒र्यं स्थेन्द्र॑स्य नृ॒म्णं स्थ॑ । जि॒ष्णवे॒ योगा॑य क्षत्रयो॒गैर्वो॑ युनज्मि ॥ (२)

हे जलो! तुम इंद्र के ओज, बल एवं वीर्य हो. तुम ही इंद्र को नवीन बनाने वाली शक्ति हो तथा तुम ही इंद्र के ऐश्वर्य हो. मैं तुम्हें क्षत्रिय संबंधी योगों से युक्त कर के विजय दिलाने वाले योग की क्षमता वाला बनाता हूं. (२)
EN English Translation
Oh my god! You are indra's energy, strength and semen. You are the power that makes Indra new and you are the richness of Indra. I make you capable of conquering yoga by equipping you with Kshatriya-related yogas. (2)
वर्म॒ मह्य॑म॒यं म॒णिः फाला॑ज्जा॒तः क॑रिष्यति । पू॒र्णो म॒न्थेन॒ माग॑म॒द्रसे॑न स॒ह वर्च॑सा ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
फाल से उत्पन्न यह मणि मेरे लिए कवच बन कर रक्षा करेगी. मंथन की सामर्थ्य एवं रस बल से युक्त होने के कारण समर्थ यह मणि मेरे पास आई है. (२)
EN English Translation
This gem produced from fal will protect me by becoming a shield for me. Due to the power of churning and being equipped with juice power, this gem has come to me. (2)
कस्मा॒दङ्गा॑द्दीप्यते अ॒ग्निर॑स्य॒ कस्मा॒दङ्गा॑त्पवते मात॒रिश्वा॑ । कस्मा॒दङ्गा॒द्वि मि॑मी॒तेऽधि॑ च॒न्द्रमा॑ म॒ह स्क॒म्भस्य॒ मिमा॑नो॒ अङ्ग॑म् ॥ (२)

इस परमेश्वर के किस अंग से अग्नि दीप्त होती है? इस के किस अंग से वायु चलती है? चंद्रमा का निर्माण इस के किस अंग से हुआ है? वह चंद्रमा इस विश्वाधार से किस अंग को नापता है? (२)

From which part of this God does agni glow? From which part of this does the air move? The moon is formed from which part of it? Which part does that moon measure from this universe? (2)
ति॒स्रो ह॑ प्र॒जा अ॑त्या॒यमा॑य॒न्न्यन्या अ॒र्कम॒भितो॑ऽविशन्त । बृ॒हन्ह॑ तस्थौ॒ रज॑सो वि॒मानो॒ हरि॑तो॒ हरि॑णी॒रा वि॑वेश ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तीन प्रकार की प्रजाएं अतिक्रमण करती हुई परमेश्वर को प्राप्त होती हैं. एक प्रकार की अर्थात् सतोगुणी प्रजाएं सूर्य में प्रविष्ट होती हैं. दूसरे प्रकार की अर्थात् रजोगुणी प्रजाएं रजोलोक को नापती हुई स्थित रहती हैं. तीसरी अर्थात् तमोगुणी प्रजाएं सब का हरण करती हुई हरे रंग में अर्थात् अंधकार में प्रवेश करती हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Three kinds of subjects transcend and receive God. One type of i.e. satoguni subjects enter the sun. The second type of i.e. rajoguni subjects are located measuring Rajolok. Thirdly, tamoguni subjects take away everyone and enter green color i.e. darkness. (3)
शू॒द्रकृ॑ता॒ राज॑कृता॒ स्त्रीकृ॑ता ब्र॒ह्मभिः॑ कृ॒ता । जा॒या पत्या॑ नु॒त्तेव॑ क॒र्तारं॒ बन्ध्वृ॑च्छतु ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शूद्र के द्वारा निर्मित, राजा के द्वारा निर्मित, स्त्री के द्वारा निर्मित एवं मंत्रों के द्वारा प्रेरित कृत्या अपने बनाने वाले के समीप उसी प्रकार लौट जाए, जिस प्रकार भाइयों के द्वारा विदा की गई पत्नी अपने पति के समीप लौट जाती है. (३)
EN English Translation
The act made by the Shudra, made by the king, made by the woman and inspired by mantras should return to her creator in the same way as the wife sent off by the brothers returns to her husband. (3)
चतु॑ष्टयं युज्यते॒ संहि॑तान्तं॒ जानु॑भ्यामू॒र्ध्वं शि॑थि॒रं कब॑न्धम् । श्रोणी॒ यदू॒रू क उ॒ तज्ज॑जान॒ याभ्यां॒ कुसि॑न्धं॒ सुदृ॑ढं ब॒भूव॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
घुटनों के ऊपर चारों भाग हैं-शिथिल, धड़, कंधे और जंघाएं. इन्हें किस ने बनाया, जिस से शरीर का भाग धड़ दृढ़ हुआ? (३)

There are four parts above the knees - lax, torso, shoulders and thighs. Who made them, so that the part of the body became torso strengthened? (3)
बाला॑स्ते॒ प्रोक्ष॑णीः सन्तु जि॒ह्वा सं मा॑र्ष्ट्वघ्न्ये । शु॒द्धा त्वं य॒ज्ञिया॑ भू॒त्वा दिवं॒ प्रेहि॑ शतौदने ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हिंसा के अयोग्य गौ! तेरे बाल यज्ञ का प्रोक्षणी नामक पात्र बनें तथा तेरी जीभ यज्ञ वेदी का मार्जन करे अर्थात् सफाई करे. हे शतौदना गौ! तू इस प्रकार शुद्ध और यज्ञ के योग्य बन कर स्वर्ग को गमन कर. (३)
EN English Translation
O cow unworthy of violence! Your hair should become a vessel called Prokshni of yajna and your tongue should clean the yajna altar i.e. clean it. O Shataudana Gau! In this way, become pure and worthy of sacrifice and go to heaven. (3)
वेदा॒हं स॒प्त प्र॒वतः॑ स॒प्त वे॑द परा॒वतः॑ । शिरो॑ य॒ज्ञस्या॒हं वे॑द॒ सोमं॑ चास्यां विचक्ष॒णम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं वशा गौ के समीप रहने वाली सात वस्तुओं और दूर रहने वाली सात वस्तुओं को जानता हूं. मैं यज्ञ के शीश को जानता हूं तथा वशा गौ में होने वाले प्रकाशशील सोम को भी जानता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
I know seven objects living near Vasha Gau and seven objects living far away. I know the mirror of the yajna and I also know the lighting soma that takes place in Vasha Gau. (3)
अ॒यं म॒णिर्व॑र॒णो वि॒श्वभे॑षजः सहस्रा॒क्षो हरि॑तो हिर॒ण्ययः॑ । स ते॒ शत्रू॒नध॑रान्पादयाति॒ पूर्व॒स्तान्द॑भ्नुहि॒ ये त्वा॑ द्वि॒षन्ति॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वरण वृक्ष से निर्मित यह मणि समस्त रोगों की ओषधि है. यह मणि हजार आंखों वाले इंद्र के समान शक्तिशालिनी, हरे रंग की और हिरण्यमय है. यह मणि तेरे शत्रुओं को मार डाले, उस से पहले ही तू उन का विनाश कर दे. (३)
EN English Translation
This gem made from the varan tree is the medicine of all diseases. This gem is shaktishalini, green and hiranyamaya like indra with thousand eyes. Before this gem kills your enemies, you destroy them. (3)
अव॑ श्वेत प॒दा ज॑हि॒ पूर्वे॑ण॒ चाप॑रेण च । उ॑दप्लु॒तमि॑व॒ दार्वही॑नामर॒सं वि॒षं वारु॒ग्रम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे श्वैतपद! तू अपने अगले एवं पिछले पैरों के द्वारा सर्पो का विनाश कर. गिरता हुआ काष्ठ जिस प्रकार शक्ति से हीन हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार सर्प विष प्रभावहीन हो जाता है. हे दर्भ! तू इस भयानक सर्प विष का निवारण कर. (३)
EN English Translation
O shvaitapad! Destroy serpents with your front and back feet. Just as falling wood becomes inferior to power, in the same way snake venom becomes ineffective. O darbh! You remove this terrible snake poison. (3)
इन्द्र॒स्यौज॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य॒ सह॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य॒ बलं॒ स्थेन्द्र॑स्य वी॒र्यं स्थेन्द्र॑स्य नृ॒म्णं स्थ॑ । जि॒ष्णवे॒ योगा॑येन्द्रयो॒गैर्वो॑ युनज्मि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जलो! तुम इंद्र के ओज, बल एवं वीर्य हो. तुम ही इंद्र को नवीन बनाने वाली शक्ति एवं तुम ही इंद्र के ऐश्वर्य हो. मै तुम्हें इंद्र संबंधी योगों से युक्त कर के विजय दिलाने वाले योग की क्षमता वाला बनाता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
O burn! You are indra's oz, strength and semen. You are the power that makes Indra new and you are the opulence of Indra. I make you with the ability of yoga that gives victory by combining you with Indra related yogas. (3)
यत्त्वा॑ शि॒क्वः प॒राव॑धी॒त्तक्षा॒ हस्ते॑न॒ वास्या॑ । आप॑स्त्वा॒ तस्मा॑ज्जीव॒लाः पु॒नन्तु॒ शुच॑यः॒ शुचि॑म् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कुशल बढ़ई जो तुझे औजार सहित हाथ से मारता है अर्थात् छील कर तेरा निर्माण करता है, इसी कारण जीवन देने वाले एवं पवित्र जल तुझे शुद्ध करें और पवित्र बनाएं. (३)
EN English Translation
The skilled carpenter who kills you with a tool, that is, peels you and creates you, that is why the life-giving and holy water purify you and make you holy. (3)
कस्मि॒न्नङ्गे॑ तिष्ठति॒ भूमि॑रस्य॒ कस्मि॒न्नङ्गे॑ तिष्ठत्य॒न्तरि॑क्षम् । कस्मि॒न्नङ्गे॑ तिष्ठ॒त्याहि॑ता॒ द्यौः कस्मि॒न्नङ्गे॑ तिष्ठ॒त्युत्त॑रं दि॒वः ॥ (३)

इस परमात्मा के किस अंग में भूमि स्थित रहती है? इस के किस अंग में अंतरिक्ष होता है? यह दृढ़ द्यौ इस के किस अंग में स्थित है? ऊंचा स्वर्ग इस के किस अंग में स्थित है? (३)
EN English Translation
In which part of this God is the land located? Which part of it contains space? In which part of this rigid dyau is it located? In which part of this high heaven is it located? (3)
द्वाद॑श प्र॒धय॑श्च॒क्रमेकं॒ त्रीणि॒ नभ्या॑नि॒ क उ॒ तच्चि॑केत । तत्राह॑ता॒स्त्रीणि॑ श॒तानि॑ श॒ङ्कवः॑ ष॒ष्टिश्च॒ खीला॒ अवि॑चाचला॒ ये ॥ (४)

बारह अरे तथा तीन नेमियां एक पहिए से संबंधित हैं. बारह मास, बारह अरे तथा शीत, ग्रीष्म, वर्षा, तीन ऋतुएं तीन नेमियां हैं. ये समय रूपी पहिए में स्थित हैं. इस बात को कौन जानता है अर्थात् कोई नहीं जानता. उस पहिए में तीन सौ साठ खूंटियां तथा इतनी ही कीलें लगाई गई हैं जो स्थिर हैं. वर्ष के दिन और रात ही खूंटियां और कीले हैं. EN English Translation
Twelve are and three names are related to one wheel. Twelve months, twelve are and winter, summer, rain, three seasons are three names. They are located in the wheel of time. Who knows this, that is, no one knows. Three hundred and sixty pegs and as many nails have been installed in that wheel which are stable. The day and night of the year are pegs and nails. (4)
