Description

The Ashtavakra Gita is a radical text of non-dual philosophy presented as a dialogue between the sage Ashtavakra and King Janaka. It is considered one of the most direct and uncompromising expositions of Advaita (non-duality) in all of Hindu literature.

Unlike the Bhagavad Gita which teaches through progressive stages, the Ashtavakra Gita directly declares the identity of the Self with Brahman from the very first verse. It teaches that liberation is not something to be achieved — it is the eternal nature of the Self, merely to be recognized.
